A 15 percent slash in total headcount will be made by handset maker HTC. This is a move that will have its impact on about 2000 jobs following the biggest ever loss faced by Taiwanese firm during the second quarter this year.

This realignment is also inclusive of introduction of new business units for creating more focus and profit in prominent areas such as virtual reality, premium smartphones, lifestyle products, to name a few. Speaking about this, the Chairperson and CEO of HTC, Wang said expanding their firm beyond smartphones will require a flexible and dynamic organization that can back the multinational manufacturer in taking exciting opportunities that can trigger them to get connected to lifestyle space.
