Three-day training for teachers at SCERT

In order to enhance the Plus 2 results in the coming academic year School education secretary D. Sabitha has ordered that 25,000 teachers should be trained.
 
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha in order to enhance the quality of education in Tamil Nadu has allocated more funds to the education department. The education secretary has instructed all district education departments to ensure that whether all the free government articles including text books are handed over to the students at the appropriate time.
 
At this juncture the teachers handling the subjects of computer science, mathematics and history are undergoing the three-day training in Salem city at State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
 
V. C. Rameswara Murugan, Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) speaking at the inaugural of the State-level refresher course for teacher educators here on Thursday said that the State Government has accorded priority for the education department and has earmarked Rs. 20,000 Crores for implementing various welfare measures. The schemes such as distribution of free laptops, uniforms, books, etc are unheard of in other States. The government has directed the department to organise skill development training programme to the government school teachers.
 
Mr. Rameswara Murugan said that the department has identified three teachers from each district and is imparting expertise coaching to them in developing their skill at the State-level programme. The trained resource persons in turn will impart training to the headmasters and other teachers in their respective districts.
