US based taxi app Uber and telecom service provider Bharti Airtel have joined hands to provide free high speed internet facility in all cabs across the country. Furthermore, Airtel will be the official telecom partner for Uber across India. Mobile, data and device plans will be provided to Uber driver and partners by Airtel.
This service is currently made available in Mumbai and will be seen made available across India. With this partnership between Uber riders and Airtel, customers using the Uber service will now be able to pay for their trips with the help of Airtel`s mobile wallet service called the Airtel Money. Mumbai residents can also enjoy the pride of being the first to experience free high speed internet in cabs through Uber. All Uber riders pan India will soon get the service rolled out for it.
For a limited time, those Airtel Money users who top up in it can enjoy Rs 500 with their Uber rider. With this service being started in Mumbai Uber vehicles, soon other vehicles across India will get equipped with these Wi-Fi services powered by Airtel 4G.
