More local train services introduced

The Southern Railway has announced the introduction of two new suburban services on Thursday and eight more on Friday. 

According to a press release from Southern Railway, two new suburban services commenced operations in Chennai region from Thursday. Train no 43431 Chennai Central-Arakkonam fast local left Chennai Central at 8.05 pm and reached Arakkonam at 9.30 pm. Train no 43438 Arakkonam-Chennai Central local left Arakkonam at 9.40 pm and arrived at Chennai Central at 11.30 pm.

Eight months ago, the Southern Railway had announced the introduction of 16 new EMU services following a substantial increase in passenger traffic, especially in the northern section.

Southern Railway General manager Deepak Krishan had, while releasing the railway time table in July 2010, said that two local train services would be introduced on the main line and other trains would run on local lines.

Train no 43002 Avadi-Chennai Central local leaves Avadi at 4 am and reaches Chennai Central at 4.40 am

Train no 43403 Chennai Central-Sullurupetta local leaves Chennai Central at 5 am and arrives at Sullurupetta at 7.10 am

Train no 42802 Sullurupetta-Chennai Beach local starts from Sullurupetta at 7.25 am and reaches its destination at 9.45 am.

Train no 41051 Chennai Beach-Velachery local starts from Chennai Beach at 9.50 am and reaches Velachery at 10.30 am

Train no 41052 Velachery-Chennai Beach local leaves Velachery at 10.50 am and arrives at Chennai Beach at 11.30 am

Train no 43821 Chennai Beach-Tiruttani local leaves Chennai Beach at 12.10 pm and arrives at Tiruttani at 2.45 pm

Train no 43512 Tiruttani-Chennai Central local leaves Tiruttani at 3.30 pm and reaches Chennai Central at 5.45 pm

Train no 43029 Chennai Central-Avadi local leaves Chennai Central at 11.35 pm and arrives at Avadi at 12.15 am
