During festive time, there will be heavy rush in the Omni buses in Chennai. During these time most of them from Chennai usually carry along with them expensive valuables, gold jewels and hard-earned cash to hand them over to their loved one.

Using this opportunity, there are miscreants who loot the valuables. In order to prevent this Tamil Nadu Omni Bus Owners Association (TNOBOA) has come up with an idea to resolve this on their own. They have decided to train and appoint marshals to prevent this crime. The marshals who have been working in Omni buses will be trained by police. They will be provided with special attire, which only the driver can identify. They will be smartly dressed and will mingle with passengers to keep an eye out for criminals whose photographs and sketches will be given by police.

So during this festive season passengers can have relief.

There are 1,700 private buses operational in Tamil Nadu, of which 800 ply from and to Chennai.
