Central Minister for Finance,Mr. Arun Jaitley, flags off the Awareness Week for the government`s plan to facilitate simpler & faster loans – Mudra loans -for small scale entrepreneurs.
The minister will be handing over the letter for release of loans to some small scale entrepreneurs in the camp conducted by Punjab National Bank at Delhi.
In order to improve the small scale industry productivity, Mudra Loan Awareness week is being observed from 25th September till 2nd October.
Camps detailing the Mudra Loan facility for small scale entrepreneurs are being organized by several banks.
The public sector banks, private sector banks, and regional village banks have set a target to disperse loans for a total of Rs. 1.22 Lakh Crores under this Mudra Loan Scheme during the current financial year.
Mudra was started as an auxiliary organization of SIDBI (Small Industries Development Bank of India) and funds of Rs. 5000 Crores has been allotted for a starting investment.
Through this fund, banks have disbursed loans to a maximum of Rs. 10 Lakhs each to the small scale entrepreneurs.
