Posted on: 29/Sep/2015 9:25:59 AM
The government has planned to recruit Tashildars directly in the department of revenue.

Revenue department is considered to be the backbone of the government machinery. Caste certificates, income proofs certificate, residence proof certificates, rations cards, and all other government welfare assistance schemes are all distributed through the Taluk Officers.

Various cadres of employees including Junior Assistants, Assistants, Revenue Analyst, Assistant Tashildar, Tashildar, divisional officer, district distribution officer, district revenue officer, etc are working in the revenue department.

Revenue assistants working the Taluk Offices acquire skill in the departmental work and after training, get promoted as revenue analysts. The revenue analysts, once passing the departmental examinations and complete the training, get promoted as Assistant or Deputy Tashildars in 5 years (this varies from district to district).

Deputy or Assistant Tashildars are promoted as Tashildars after serving for 5 years..

Until recent times, the posts of Deputy or Assistant Tashildars were filled up only by way of promotion.  Now, the government is exploring the possibility for direct recruitment fort the posts of deputy Tashildars just as practiced in the selection of DCTEO (Deputy Commercial Tax Officer).

Reliable & authoritative sources inform that no decision has been taken on whether how much Deputy Tashildars should be taken by way of promotion and how much  of Deputy Tashildars should be taken by direct recruitment.
