326 post offices migrate to core banking system

Indian Postal officials have mentioned that 326 post offices in Chennai region have migrated to core banking system.
 
Throughout the country, the Indian Postal Department is making efforts in top gear to convert all post offices into core banking system. The Central Government had introduced Anywhere and Anytime Banking project at a cost of Rs 800 Crores. In the year 2013, 16th December first core banking was introduced in the post office in Greams Road.  Now 1000 post offices all over Tamil Nadu have migrated to core banking system. CBS  enables  customers  to  operate  their  accounts,  and  avail banking  services  from  any  post  office  on  CBS  network,  regardless  of  where  they  maintain  their account.  The  customer  is  no  more  the  customer  of  a  particular  post  office.
