CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has announced that the last date for writing NET – National Eligibility Test – for the posts of Assistant Professors has been extended till 5th November.
A pass in the NET (National Eligibility Test) is compulsory to be eligible for selection for the posts of Assistant Professors in various faculties – art subjects - in colleges including Literature, History, Geography, Sociology, General Management, and Psychology.
The results of NET conducted in June 2015 have been announced. The next NET is scheduled to be conducted on 27th December.
Candidates who have procured more than 55% in the post-graduation are eligible to apply. For the candidates belonging to SC/ST, and OBC, minimum marks required in post-graduation is reduced to 50%.
It is worth noting that the students writing their final year examinations in post-graduation can also apply for writing NET.
There is no age limit while applying for the post of Assistant Professor. However, an age limit of 27 years has been fixed for the grant of junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
For those who are applying under reservation quota, age limit concession is allowed for up to 5 years.
