Increase in Import Duty on Ghee and Butter

Central government has increased the Import Duty for ghee and butter to 40 percent. Speaking about this, Financial Services Secretary, Ministry of Finance of Government of India, Hasmukh Adhia states that this move is made to do good to the manufacturers here in India. The import duty was earlier 30 percent to which a 10 percent increase is made now.
He added that this import duty will be in existence till March 2016. Necessary steps will be taken to ensure that the Indian manufacturers will not face any difficulties due to dip in price in products in the international market.
