Central Government: electricity charges to go up gradually to reduce the losses!

The Central Minister for Electricity, Mr. Piyush Goel, has suggested that the the various electricity distribution organisations should gradually increase the electricity charges as they have been suffering & operating in huge losses.
He was speaking while participating in an event organized in Delhi.
He informed that the central government has been taking efforts to increase the electricity rates gradually over a long periods of time.
The minister reassured that care will be taken that consumers would not be burdened too much because of this.
Electricity Minister Mr. Piyush Goel informed that by providing electricity at cheaper rates for the consumers, all electricity generation organization in various states including Tamil Nadu have been incurring and operating under huge losses to the tune of Rs. 60000 Crores.
