There is convective activity in Tamil Nadu for the last few days. Because of this there is upper circulation of air which causes rain. Especially in Chennai, there are rains in the nights and drizzles throughout the night.

Yesterday night there were rains in Koyambedu, Anna Nagar, Pallavaram, Ambattur, Nungambakkam and Egmore areas. In the morning the sky was cloudy.

At this juncture a low depression has been formed in Bay of Bengal near Andhra Pradesh. Similarly a low depression has also been formed in Arabian Sea near Kerala. At a time when the South Western Monsoon is active in Kerala, this depression will bring heavy rains in South Tamil Nadu.

Since there is depression in Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea, there are chances of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry from 12th Monday.

As far as Chennai is concerned, the sky will be cloudy for 3 days from today. There will be sporadic rains in the nights. From Monday, there will be heavy rains accompanied with heavy winds.
