Facebooks other folder to be replaced

Facebook is now stopping its other message folder. Very few users are aware of this feature and even fewer actually use it. The feature was to send messages sent by strangers and that are unwanted to a separate folder. The messages were usually spam and was meant to filter out unwanted messages.
However, users could access this feature only through the desktop version of the platform. Also, users did not get notification of new messages received under this feature. In its place, Facebook will now offer one called message requests.
A Facebook official said, We`re removing the Other Folder ... and are enabling you to accept or ignore new requests without the requestor knowing you`ve read their message. That means messages from friends and contacts will be delivered as usual, while everything else will be a message request.
