Heavy rains in Chennai city - including suburban areas!

It has been raining heavily today (Saturday, 31st October) in Chennai city and its suburban areas.
Heavy rains have been lashing in Koyambedu, Vadapalani, T Nagar, Vepery, Kodambakkam, Guindy, Eekkattuthangal, Pallavaram, Madipakkam, nanganallur and other suburban areas.
As a result, all low-lying areas in the city have been flooded. The heavy rain posed a hardship to the public who ventured out on purchase of cloths and other items for the ensuing Deepavali festival.
