What is dengue?
Dengue is basically a viral fever that is spread through bites of Aedes Aegypti - a variety of mosquito. This is also caused by type-1, type-2, type-3 and type-4 virus. The breeding ground for these mosquitoes is mostly good water, and such mosquitoes have got a lifespan of just 2 weeks. In this short time, they breed thrice reproducing over a hundred eggs.
If these eggs are healthy and find a preferred dry place, it will hatch its chicks on finding good water. If dengue virus is present in these eggs, the chicks will also acquire the virus.
In general, Aedes Aegypti bites only during day time. Hence, it is very important for us to stay protected from mosquitoes during the day time as well.
