A special ward for burn injuries has been opened at the Kilpauk General Hospital to attend burn injuries during Deepavali. The new ward is part of a routine measure taken by the hospital to attend to burn injuries during the festival. The ward which will normally have 50 beds will have 10 additional beds for adults and 5 additional beds for children. It will function 24 hours during the season. The ward will be manned by one doctor-in-charge, a senior doctor and 8 nurses.
