Safety precautionary measures of school children

The Education Department has sent circulars to all schools with regarding to safety precautionary measures of school children due to rains.
 
In the circular, it has been mentioned: 
  1. Children should not be allowed near rivers, lakes and ponds if there is going to be a breach.
  2. Due to continuous rains there can be humidness in the school compound walls. Hence a barricade should be set and children should not be allowed to go near these walls.
  3. Due to heavy rains some of classes would have been affected. Such of those classes should not be used. They should be locked. 
  4. Power leakages should be checked. If there is any leakage or fault, the current can be switched off and the electricity board can be contacted.
  5. It should be ascertained that whether all the  holes, water sewage and wells in the schools are covered.
  6. During holidays, students should avoid bathing in lakes, ponds and rivers. During the holiday, the students should not visit water reservoirs. Headmasters and parents should create awareness among students.
  7. Students should avoid flooded roads while coming and going to school.
  8. When walking in the roads, the students should avoid going near defective and broken electric wires. They should also avoid going in the roads which have rain water canals.
  9. If there ant tree which is likely to fall in the school premises, it should be immediately removed.
  10. The head masters should check if the electric switches are in proper condition and whether they are not in contact with rain water.
  11. Students should not be allowed to operate electrical appliances.
  12. Now and then, the school roof should be checked if it in proper condition. Utmost care should be taken to avoid rain water stagnation on the roofs.
  13. Students should not be allowed to go near any new construction or when maintenance of school buildings takes place. Barricades should be set up.
  14. The teachers should advice students that they should avoid standing under the trees to protect themselves against rains because there are chances of lightning and thunder that could inflict harm. 
  15. Students should be advised to take precautionary measures against the seasonal diseases like dengue and Chikungunya. If they have any fever symptoms, they should immediately go to the hospitals without any delay.
