Doctors have envisaged that once a person comes to know that he has diabetes he should immediately check his iris. On the occasion of the World Diabetes Awareness day, Sankara Nethralaya along with International Rotary Club (District 324A8) conducted a free diabetic camp. Diabetes Dr A Panneerselvam and eye doctor G Suganeswari while speaking on this occasion said, If the sugar level is not in control, the iris should be checked. If this is not done, then there are chances of people becoming blind. So those who have diabetes should go for a monthly checkup. If one is able to keep the sugar level in control, then they can safeguard the iris and kidneys.
More than 150 people participated in this camp and checked the sugar level and BP.
