CM talks to Home Minister, is assured of help

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha has appraised Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh of the situation in the State due to unprecedented rain and floods. The most affected are Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Cuddalore districts. She has asked him to send a team to make an assessment of the damage and release assistance as soon as possible. 

Mr. Singh has tweeted, Spoke to TN CM, who appraised me of the flood situation in the state. The Centre is assisting the state agencies of TN in rescue and relief ops. Assured TN CM of all possible help.

During their phone conversation, Ms. Jayalalitha told Mr. Singh that a detailed memorandum would be submitted to the Centre. According to an official press release, she has asked for assistance to be released from the National Disaster Response Fund by November 23. The release said, The chief minister detailed the precautionary measures taken by the government and also the extensive, immediate relief and rescue efforts launched under her leadership through teams of ministers and senior officials deputed to each of the flood affected districts.
