For the last 10 days, due to heavy rains in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, the production of vegetables were badly affected. Because of this the public was put in to great distress since the prices of vegetables soared high.

S P Soruban, chief of the Grocery Trader`s Sangam has explained that whether the prices of groceries have gone up. On the occasion of Deepavali, people were given Deepavali Fund package. This package consists of 25 varieties of groceries. Due to heavy rains, the public did not come out of their houses. Because of this, there was dull business for the last 15 days.
