Due to heavy rains in Chennai and suburbs, the prices of vegetables soared high. Now the prices are coming down.

Since the rains have stopped, the inflows of vegetables from other states have become more. Usually the vegetables are brought to Koyambedu market in 300 lorries, All of a sudden the vegetables started coming in 100 lorries and because of this the prices of vegetables skyrocketed. Now normalcy has returned. Vegetables are once again arriving in 300 Lorries.

Because of this, the tomatoes which were sold for Rs 100 per kilo are now being sold for Rs 25. Similarly the onions which were sold for Rs 50 are now being sold for Rs 30.

Carrots and beetroots are being sold for Rs 35 per kilo and Brinjals which were sold for Rs 100 per kilo are now being sold for Rs 40. Because of this, the sales in Koyambedu wholesale market and retail markets have increased.
