Special camps starts functioning: Educational certificates to be issued in a weeks time

132 special camps were set up in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Cuddalore districts to issue educational certificates to the people who have lost their documents in the recent heavy rains and floods. 132 special camps started functioning from yesterday. Those who have submitted their applications will be issued certificates in a week`s time.
 
During the recent floods and rains, many people have lost their houses, belongings and other government documents.
 
In order to help these affected people, the Tamil Nadu State Government has setup 132 special camps in the four districts to issue the lost documents. The camps will function till 27th December.
 
More than 5,600 people who lost documents such as voter IDs, Aadhar cards, licenses and mark sheets in the floods applied for replacements on the first day that the government held camps to reissue papers on Monday. The camps were held in 10 taluk offices across the city.
 
Tents and desks were set up in the taluk offices with separate stalls for replacement of voter ID cards, Aadhar cards, land documents, ration cards, school and college certificates, transfer certificates, LPG documents, national disability ID and certificates for the disabled.
