Today being the last day of one Mandalam (a period of 41 days), special pooja will be performed today. In convention, crown, overcoat, and others special items will be sourced from Pathasarathy temple and brought marching to the temple. The same began for this year on 23rd of December.

The procession will arrive at Mumbai by 1pm today, Saturday. This will be received by the officials of Dhevasam board Ayyapapa Service Union. This will then be taken to the Ganapathy temple at Mumbai. Arrangements will be made there for the people to worship the same until 3.30 pm today. This will be followed by procession to the lord’s shrine.

On taking it along the 18 steps and reaching the shrine, Kandaru Mahesh Mohaganaru, and Melsandhi Sankaran Nambodhri will together receive the golden Angi and take it to the Karuvarai at 6 pm to decorate the idol. This will be followed by special pooja.

At this time, the entire crowd of devotees will chant the lord`s name. The mandala poojai will take place at 12.30 pm tomorrow. Owing to this, devotees are restricted from climbing the mountain along the 18 steps. They will not be allowed to climb the mountain after 12.30 pm. They will rather be allowed only after the golden Angi procession gets over and reaches the shrine.

For this Mandala poojai, special ghee abhishegam will take place between 3.20 am and 9.20 am tomorrow. Usually, this pooja will be followed by the closure of Nadai at 11 pm. Devotees will once more come to the temple for Vilakku poojai on 30th.
