The total number of mobile phone users, mobile phone manufacturers and buyers is surging to great heights and so are mobile phone thefts. While a few get stolen, we misplace a few. Here are few quick steps you need to take, if you unfortunately happen to miss your mobile phone.

Most of us get tempted to use smartphones and mobile apps that are exciting to use, but we fail to look into the security and safety features they offer. Especially, we might not feel that bad of losing a cell phone if it is a normal one, but in case of smartphones, losing it will be disastrous.

As a first step, block mobile banking service. This measure is important in order to avoid losing more money! To get it done, approach the bank through call centre services. Tell them your mobile number and request for blocking mobile banking service to the number.

The SIM card that you use must be familiar among all your friends and family members. So you may want the same number to get retained. If so, approach your mobile network operator and request them for blocking your SIM. Once done, you can apply for a new SIM card with the same contact number. This is a very quick process and doesn’t take much time.

It is always good to have backup of all your contacts in your computer or elsewhere. This will help you in reaching your friends and family to inform them about the loss of your mobile phone.
