The Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry has launched a new toll free contact number for registering complaints about leakage of gas and other complaints about gas cylinders. The number is 1906. It will function round the clock and serve as a dedicated LPG emergency helpline.
A helpline number is already functional for booking gas cylinders. This has given rise to better transparency and reduced delay in receiving cylinders. Now, the Petroleum and Natural Gas ministry has introduced a new helpline number to help customers book complaints about gas leakage, demand for extra charge than actual cylinder price, lesser weight of cylinder, troubles in receiving cylinder, and more. The new number was launched by Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Anyone can call 1906 from anywhere across India. The service will be available throughout the day in 9 languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marati, Gujarati, Oriya, Assami, and Bengali.
Customers of Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan petroleum, and Bharat petroleum can make use of this service.
