Nearly 60 percent of the petrol bunks have gone dry because of the stop-purchase agitation of the Tamil Nadu Petroleum Dealers Association (TNPDA).
The districts affected by the protest include Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Erode, Karur, Tiruppur and Nilgiris. While Coimbatore remains unaffected so far, if the
agitation continues, many bunks in the city are likely to go dry on Thursday .
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Civil Supplies has scheduled a meeting for Thursday morning with representatives of oil companies, LOA and TNPDA.
