SMS services to wake up train passengers

The railway budge is for this year is to be filed with the parliament tomorrow. The Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu is expected to propose many schemes in favor of railway passengers.
There are plans to increase SMS services to passengers who pre-book train tickets. The passengers will be informed of arrival and departure timings of particular trains at various stations. One of the senior officials at the railway ministry stated that the mobile number provided at the time of online ticket booking will be made use of to provide these SMS services. This will also be used to intimate about delay in train services.
Passengers who travel in long distant trains like Rajdhani, Sampark kranti, etc tend to sleep during their journey. These passengers will be facilitated with SMS services to intimate about arrival at stations. Accordingly, the passengers will be waken up by SMS when the train is about to reach their destination station if it falls to be around 11 pm and 6 am.
