Sea levels rising faster than ever before, say experts

Scientists have said that the green house gases from human activity has caused many of the natural disasters that have hit recently, including the tidal flooding in the coastal areas of America. They have said that the green house emissions have caused the ocean to rise at the fastest rate since the founding of ancient Rome. Events such as the ones in America are only an early harbinger of the coming damage, they say.

According to a scientist of a study on the coastal tidal flooding, I think we need a new way to think about most coastal flooding. It`s not the tide. It`s not the wind. It`s us. That`s true for most of the coastal floods we now experience.

Scientists who worked on another, similar study reconstructed the sea levels over a long period of time. They have found that the sea is now rising at a rate faster than any other time in 28 centuries. They have said that if the sea continues to rise at this rate, the levels would increase by at least 3 or 4 feet by 2100.

Says a professor of ocean physics at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany, I think we can definitely be confident that sea-level rise is going to continue to accelerate if there`s further warming, which inevitably there will be.
