Following the frequent theft of money meant to be deposited taken from the vehicles, the central government has come with the decision and in order to prevent this that no cash transactions should be taken after 8.00 PM.
Around Rs.15000 Crores of cash are replenished daily in the ATMs all over the country.About 8000 vehicles from the various banks carry this money to the ATMs for replenishment.
Apart from the private agencies on this operation retain around Rs. 5000 Crores in hard cash to replenish the next morning. When these vehicles are on the road, frequent incidents have occurred when criminals accost the vehicles and take the money.
In order to prevent this, the central Home Ministry has devised certain measures. These will be effective from a short period. One of them is that no cash should be taken on vehicles and deposited in ATMs after 8.00 PM. In suburban areas, this order not to deposit money in ATM will be from 5.00 PM. In areas where Naxalite activities are strong, this will be effective from 3.00 PM.
Rifled security, GPS and surveillance cameras should be available in the vehicles for proper safety. More than Rs. 5 Crore cannot be taken in a single trip.
The vehicle security staff shall be fully alert all the time to ready to face any danger.These measures will be effective in a short period.
