The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that applications for writing NET (National Eligibility Test) for the posts of Assistant Professor can be sent online from today (Tuesday, 12th April).
NET is conducted at the national level for appointment for the posts of Assistant Professors in the faculties of English, History, Geography, Commerce, Sociology and other art subjects inkling literature.
NET or National Eligibility Test is conducted twice a year in June & December. CBSE conducts NET.
Candidates must be post-graduates with minimum 55 percent marks. For candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC, and different-abled category, the minimum mark is set at 50 percent.
Though there is no age limit set for NET, only for Junior research Fellowship (JRF). It is set at 28 years.
For the candidates applying under quota, age limit concession of 5 years is given.
Candidates who are successful in JRF will also be eligible for the posts of Assistant Professor.
The 1st NET for the current year is scheduled on Sunday, 12th July.
For this, applications can be sent online (website:
cbsenet.nic.in) from today (Tuesday, 12th April).
CBSE has informed that the applications must be sent before 12th May.
