236000 applications received for H-1B Visa

A new system is about to be introduced in the procedure for H-1B visas issued to the employees deputed to work in the USA.

The applications are now being selected on a lot basis selected by the computer.

USCIS (United States Citizenship and Information Services) has issued a press release yesterday (Wednesday, 13th April) regarding this.

The press release informs tat 236000 applications for H-1B visas have been received in this prescribed period.

Out of this, 65000 applications will be picked at random through computers and H-1B visas will be given for the selected applications.

Several professionals/employees in the Information Technology sector have applied for H-1B Visa from India as well as other countries.

The maximum limit for issue of H-1B visas has been fixed 65000 and the number of applications received is triple.

Refund will be given to the applicants who are not selected to this computer lot process.

However, USCIS has informed that if it has been detected that there are fake applications, refund will not be given for these.
