No short supply of electric power this summer

Electricity Board officials say that there will be no shortage of power supply this summer due to increased productivity.  There are 8 thermal power stations under the TNEB. Power necessary for Tamil Nadu is obtained from here only. Apart from this there are 16 units which save power from dams. There are also windmill power and solar power. In this the dam and windmill will function only in a particular time.
 
As far as solar is concerned there will be almost production throughout the year. 650 megawatt electricity is produced by solar power.
 
Normally the demand for power will increase during the summer. This January the demand for power was 12797 megawatt. The impact of summer was held during the first week of February. Demand for electricity increased. During the month of March the demand for power supply was 14538 megawatts.
 
During the last 5 years, production of electric power was increased. In the year 2011, 10859 megawatts electricity was produced. in the year 2012, 11285 megawatts power was produced. In the year 2014,13775 megawatts was produced. At this juncture, on 13th April 2016 14,736 megawatts was produced. On 15th April, the power production was increased by 14900 megawatts. When compared to last five years, the power production was more only in this April.
