85 percent of the Chennai Metro Rail works over

85 percent of the Chennai Metro Rail works which are going in various places in Chennai have been completed. Metro rail official have mentioned that a mammoth underground metro rail construction works are going on. The metro rail works are going on at a cost of Rs 20 thousand Crores. In the first phase metro rail between Koyambedu and Alandur is being operated from June.
 
In the first route trains will be operated between Washermanpet and airport and between Chennai Central to St Thomas Mount. In the first route, there will be railway stations at  Washermanpet, Mannady, High Court, Central, New secretariat, LIC, Thousand Lights, Gemini, Teynampet, Chamiers Road  and Saidapet.  
 
In the second route there will be railway stations in Central, Egmore, Nehru Park, Kilpauk hospital, Pachaiyappas College, Shenoy Nagar, Anna Nagar East, Anna Nagar Tower and Thirumangalam. Apart from this, there will be 19 underground railway stations. 85 percent of the work related to metro rail has been completed.
