6.5 Lakh persons in Tamil Nadu surrender their LPG Cylinder subsidy

The central government had announced in January that the subsidy for the LPG Cooking gas cylinder will be cancelled for individuals with annual earnings of more than Rs. 10 Lakhs.
However, the government has not implemented this in a strict manner.
In the meanwhile, 647023 individuals from the state of Tamil Nadu has sent letters surrendering their subsidy for LPG cooking gas cylinder.
269783 persons are customers of Indian Oil Corporation.
103741 individuals are customers of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation.
273499 individuals are customers of Bharat Petroleum.
Thus, a total of 647023 individuals has surrendered their subsidy for LPG cylinders.
