Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan gets less salary

Few days back the salary details of Indian Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan was disclosed along with other Reserve Bank officials who earn more. These are a part of disclosures under the Right to Information ( RTI) Act and the figures are as of June 30, 2015, as per the RBI`s financial year.
Rajan earned a gross salary of Rs 1.98 lakh, including basic pay of Rs 90,000, dearness allowance of Rs 1 lakh and other allowances of Rs 7,000 per month.
In between the RBI officers Gopalkrishna Sitaram Hegde earns the most at Rs 4 lakh followed by Annamalai Arappuli Gounder at Rs 2.2 lakh and V Kandasamy at Rs 2.1 lakh. These three officers salary are more than Raghuram Rajan.
At this juncture, it is also come to be known that Rajan is getting less salary than his counterparts in other countries. US Federal Reserve Chair, Janet Yellen, though less paid than over 113 other Fed employees, takes home 5 times more than India`s Rajan. In 2014, Yellen`s annual salary was a little over $200,000. European Central Bank chief, Mario Draghi is a little better at half a million dollars every year, whereas Bank of England chief, Mike Craney earned $993,900 in 2014 to turn around the British economy
