The tourist spots in Southern districts look deserted because of the high intensity of heat. People during the summer season visit hill stations and tourist spots. The hotel rooms will be always filled in these tourist spots. So people who depend on the tourists will be benefitted.

At a time when school vacations were declared, due to the severe heat the parents are not able to take the children to the tourist spots. This year summer heat is more when compared to last year. As per yesterday afternoon position Trichy recorded the maximum temperature of  40 degree Celsius. Similarly Madurai recorded 39 degree Celsius, Tirunelveli recorded 38 degree Celsius, Chennai recorded 38 degree Celsius, Krishnagiri recorded 38 degree Celsius, Salem recorded 39 degree Celsius and Kovai recorded 38 degree Celsius. The winds moved from south to north at a speed of 16 kmph. The humidity of the winds were between 78 to 63. Because of this, the heat waves could be felt in these cities.

During the day time people are not able to go out because of the scorching heat. Because of this children and elderly people were deeply affected. The heat wave is blowing on the streets. Nights have become sultry. Sales in juices and fruits have become more.

During last summer, people went to hill stations in order to escape the heat. But this year, there is also severe heat in hill stations like Ooty and Yercaud. Since there is excessive heat in the tourist spots like Madurai, Rameswaram, Kanyakumari, Courtallam and Thanjavur people are scared to come. All these places look deserted.

One of the Agricultural officer while speaking said,  Since there is heavy rains in Pakistan and Northern states, the dry breeze is blowing towards north. Because of this, there are heat waves. There is less amount water to enrich the vapor in the clouds. This status will change. There are chances for summer rains.
