Facebook has been working on a number of new features that will enhance the social platform. Reports have said that developers at Facebook are working on a camera app that will have a big live streaming feature for its users. The stand alone app will allow seamless clicking and sharing of pictures. Facebook recently announced its roadmap for the next decade at the F8 developer conference.
Reports have also said that developers have designed a prototype of the camera app. It will open to a camera, similar to SnapChat. Users can live stream as they record videos. The prototype or the app, however, have not been officially confirmed by the company.
The app faces stiff competition. Besides SnapChat, chances are that the app may not do well. Many previous features introduced by Facebook have been failures, Riff, Rooms and Slingshot being some of them. A company spokesperson has said, (Our) overall level of sharing options is sound and will get better in future.
