As the hiring rates are getting driven down in software companies with increased efficiency in automation industry, the information technology in our country is likely to post the seventh straight of making betterment in productivity.

According to industry reports, generation of about $1 billion of export revenue between years 2015-16 would have required 16,055 engineers. The same was 31,846 engineers in the year 2009-10, according to Nasscom data.

This data is clearly evident of the non linear growth in India`s outsourcing firms. Though this is a boon to companies that try defending profit margins, this is a factor of concern for the future of hiring and job availability for engineers in a sector where there are over three million people.
