Puducherry Chief Minister Rangaswamy released the +2 results today (Monday, 17th May) from his office.
13285 students wrote +2 examinations in the regions of Puducherry and Karaikkal.
12533 students have passed. The percentage pass is 87.74. This is 0.41 percent less than last year.In the year 2015, it was less by 1,45 percent. So, the pass percentage has kept going down in Puducherry in the last 2 years.
In the current year, 90.95 percent of the girl students and 83.93 percent of the boy students passed. This is as per the usual trend when girl students outperform the boys.
Student Martin from Petit Seminaire Higher Secondary school secure the 1st rank with a total of 1185 marks.
Sankara Vidyalaya student Gayathri and Karaikkal Nirmala Rani Girls’ Higher secondary school student Meena Kathija secure the 2nd rank with an aggregate of 1183 marks.
Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School student Bhuvaneswari and St Patrick High School student Albertina secured the 3rd rank with an aggregate of 1182 marks.
34 schools in Puducherry recorded 100 percent pass. Last year, 35 schools recorded 100 percent pass.
In the Karaikal region, percentage pass had come down last year by 4.3 percent. This year, it has gone down further and is 85.58 percent.
The educationists express regret that the standard of education has gone down with the reduction in the percentage of pass in the regions of Puducherry and Karaikal.
