Free pilgrimage scheme, Divya Darshan

The Andhra Pradesh endowments department has proposed to introduce a free pilgrimage scheme, Divya Darshan. As per this, free pilgrimage will be held for the poor and underprivileged of Andhra Pradesh. About 1000 people from each of the 13 districts will be selected every year under the scheme. Priority will be given for SCs, STs and BCs in the state. Rs 50 Crores has been allotted to endowment board for the sake of this. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has approved this scheme. This scheme will come into effect from 1st July.
