BSNL had earlier launched Speed Pay services. This app will be of help for funds transfer using mobile phone. This is similar to Vodafone’s m-Pesa and Airtel’s Airtel Money. As a move to enhance its existing functioning, Speed Pay will henceforth function together with SBI bank.
Srivatsava, the Managing Director of BSNL said that necessary discussions with the respective two ministries are taking place.
The government subsidy is at present credited to the bank account. Once this app gets active, it will then be possible to receive the subsidy to Speed Pay.
