School vehicles to be checked in Chennai (East) and Chennai (North) jurisdiction

School vehicles pertaining to Chennai (East) and Chennai (North) jurisdiction are to be checked today. Officials of Regional Transport Offices are checking the safety aspects of the school vehicles which come under their jurisdiction. Fitness Certificates are given only if the officials are satisfied with the safety aspects.
On 28th May, 63 vehicles of 24 schools which come under the jurisdiction of RTO (South) were checked at Kottivakkam Nellai Nadar High School premises. Vehicles of the schools which come under the jurisdiction RTO East will be checked today ( 30th May) at North Coast Road. Similarly the vehicles from the schools located in Anna Nagar will be inspected by RTO North West at New Avadi Road.
Fitness certificate (FC) will be denied during the check for not meeting the norms. The school authorities will be given time of to rectify their defects and come back for inspection once again.
