BE admission: 2.5 lakhs apply on online

Online registration for admissions to the engineering courses for the academic year 2016-17 has come to an end on 31st May. At this juncture 2.5 lakhs have applied on online. There are only three days remaining to submit the filled up applications. So far 81 thousand have applied directly.
This was the first time that Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions - single window counselling was online. The total number went up to 2, 52,781 registrations when the counters closed. Of these, 1, 84, 530 candidates have paid fee for the applications.
Over the last five years, the number of applicants and vacancies has been on the rise.
The dates for assigning the random number, publication of rank list and commencement of single-window counselling will be decided in the coming days.
