Home Secretary transfers DGP K P Mahendran

Home Secretary Apurva Varma on Tuesday ordered the transfer of DGP K P Mahendran who was appointed as the DGP (elections) by the Election Commission.
DGP K P Mahendran will not take charge as DGP (police training). The Election Commission appointed KP Mahendran as the DGP (Elections) and directed all police officers involved in election related works to report to him and not to DGP. Since the election works are over Mahendran has been discharged from this work.
