The central government has announced that completing studies in Industrial Training Institutes after completing eight standard in school will henceforth be treated equivalent to studying class 10.
In his note about this during a press meet in New Delhi, Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra said that the consultative meeting for National Skills Council took place on Thursday; this saw participation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this meet, it was decided that studying in ITI after completing studies in class 8 will be considered as completion of class 10 in school. This will allow students to continue schooling even after studying in vocational education. Likewise, taking up ITI studies after completing class 10 will be considered as completion of class 12, he added.
