Chief Kazi has declared that Ramzan month will begin from today because the crescent has been sighted in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu.
Ramzan is being considered as holy fasting month by the Muslim brethren. Muslim brethren will be praying and fasting throughout the month from morning to evening.
While the Ramzan crescent is usually sighted from only one of the districts in the state, this time it was seen from districts like Nagapattinam, Tuticorin, Ramanathapuram, Vellore, Tirunelveli and Trichy.
Chief kazi Mufti Dr Salahuddin Mohammed Ayub has asked the Muslim brethren on Monday to get prepared for the Ramzan holy month.
