In India, the quality of the air is the purest in the city of Madurai

The World Health Organisation has released the list of cities in the world with the purest (or least polluted) air.
The cities in India included in this list are Kollam, Pathanam, and Thitta from Kerala, Hassan from Karnataka, and Madurai from Tamil Nadu.Puducherry also finds a place in this list.
The point to note is that all the cities listed are in South India.
Most cities in North India have highly polluted air. It is reported that some cities, especially in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan are very highly polluted.
Delhi is the city with the most polluted air in India.
As per WHO’s list, next in the most polluted air list are Patna, Gwalior, Raipur, Ahmadabad, Lucknow, Faridabad, Kanpur, Amritsar, and Ludhiana.
