Description : Veena Murali will be performing a Bharatnatyam dance recital for all the South Indian classical dance lovers out there. She began her journey in the field of Bharatanatyam classical dance at the age of 5 under the tutelage of well known danseuse Hema Rajagopalan for 11 years. As a student at Natya Dance Theatre, Veena has had the privilege of performing at prestigious venues such as The Field Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Harold Washington Library, the Harris Theatre, Navy Pier, the Chicago Cultural Center, and the MacArthur Foundation. The dancer has been a part of various Natya productions such as Sita Ram, Rhythms of Rahman, the Ramayana, and Jewels.
