Sabarimalai temple corridors to open on 15th July

The corridors of the famous Sabarimalai Sri Ayappan temple will be opened on (15th July) for the special poojas to be performed during the month of Aadi.

It has been a tradition followed in Sabarimalai Sri Ayyappan Temple that the first 5 days of the Tam Calendar months, the temple corridors would be opened and poojas will be performed every year.

For the poojas to be performed during the Tamil month of Aadi, the temple corridors will be opened on 15th July.  The corridor will be opened at 5.30 PM in presence of Sabarimalai Tanthri Kandaru Ramesh Mohanaru by the temple Mel Santhi Sankaran Namboodhri. Then. Deeparadhanai will be performed. There would not be any special poojas performed on this day. After the Darshan for the devotees, the temple corridors will be closed after 10.30 PM.

On 16th July (Saturday), the corridors will be opened by 5.00 AM and the events of Nirmalaya Darisanam, Ganapathy Homam, Usha-poojai, Ucha-poojai and special poojas such as ‘Nei’ (ghee or clarified butter) abhishkheam, Sahasra Kalasa Poojai, Kalababishekham, Udayasthamana pojjai, and Padi Poojai will be performed.

Special ‘Aadi’ month Poojas will be performed till 20th July. At 10.30 PM, the temple corridors will be closed.

‘Nirai Putharisi’ Poojai, performed every year, will be performed this year on 8th August.

On behalf of this, the temple corridors will be opened at 5.30 PM on 7th August.

‘Nirai Putharisi’ Poojai will be performed on the auspicious occasion at 
5.45 AM (on 8th August) when karkitaga Rasi and Andhagam Natchathram join together.

The sheaf of rice brought from the different parts of Kerala State would be stacked and special poojas will be performed. They would be given as ‘Prasadam’ to the devotees.

The tradition is that these sheafs of rice when taken and kept in houses and offices and premises in public use, there would be prosperity spreading across.

It has been announced that on the occasion of the ;’Nirai Putharisi’ Pooja, `nirai purtharisi` pooja will be performed in all the temples functioning under Thiruvidhangur Devasthanam.
