NOTA in college elections

The Election Commission in the recently held state assembly elections had introduced the NOTA ( None of the above) system. NOTA get the maximum percentage votes in the 2016 election at Tamil Nadu.
At this juncture the University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all Central universities to include the option of `None of the Above` (NOTA) in elections to student bodies.
In a letter to the Vice Chancellors of Central Universities, UGC has said the Commission has received representations from several students` unions demanding inclusion of NOTA option in campus polls.
It asked the universities to consider including NOTA option on EVMs and ballot papers during student body polls.
